PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Focus on Integrity

Dear Families,

This week, our school focused on the character strength of Integrity. Integrity means being honest, truthful, and genuine. Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. People with integrity tell the truth and align their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They have the courage to stick to their beliefs, even if it means not following the crowd. Integrity is closely related to honesty and authenticity.

Integrity is essential for personal growth and well-being. When your thoughts, feelings, and actions are in harmony, you can grow and achieve your goals. Being authentic and genuine makes you more likable and trusted by others, improving your relationships.

To practice and encourage the character strength of integrity at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families. There, you can watch a video, read a quote, and discuss three questions together.

Thank you for your continued support!

HALLOWEEN PARADE AND COSTUMES

Halloween will be celebrated at SSCS on Thursday, October 31st, 2024 with our traditional Halloween Parade starting at 2:15 p.m. Parents and community members are welcome to line-up around the U-shaped driveway to watch the children in the parade (weather permitting).

Please remember that costumes must be appropriate for a school setting, and not involve excessive blood, gore, or weapons.  In addition, costumes need to follow the basic requirements of the Code of Conduct Dress Code and not be “revealing” or “suggestive” in nature. Middle and High School costumes must be able to be worn in such a manner that it will not distract or disrupt the educational activities that are otherwise planned for the day. “Scary clown/ creepy clown” masks and costumes will not be allowed to be worn or possessed on school grounds.

HELP US FEED THE CANDY MONSTER

candy monsterThere is a CANDY MONSTER roaming the halls of Sharon Springs Central School that feeds on Candy! (and possibly children, we aren’t too sure yet!) You can find it in new locations throughout the building through October 25!

We are looking for donations of candy to help our Trunk or Treat Event on Halloween from 5-7 pm! All donations can be placed inside the Monster’s Belly or left at the front desk. We want to make sure we have enough candy for all of the little ghouls, goblins, monster and more who come to Trunk or Treat so any donations would be greatly appreciated!

The Sharon Springs PTO & After School Program thank you in advance for your continued support to our school and our community.

Please make sure your K-5 child has warm weather attire each day to go outside so they can participate in recess. If there is a financial need for any of these items please either send a note in with your child or email mkeaney@sharonsprings.org.
