PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Focus on Other People’s Mindsets

Dear Families,

This week, our school community focused on the Other People Mindset of Knowing That My Words and Actions Affect Others, which means having an awareness that everything that we say and do can affect others — and our relationships with them.

Whether we speak, email, text, or post, our words and actions can have a positive or negative effect. The words and actions we choose can lift others up or bring them down, and they also impact us. When we all think carefully about our words and actions and show respect and care for those around us, we create a happier and healthier community.

To practice and encourage this Other People Mindset at home, please share specific examples of how your words and actions have impacted others.

Thank you for your support!

Please Monitor Your Children’s Online Activity

We want to bring to your attention a concerning trend that has emerged recently regarding online gaming and social media use among our students. We have observed an increase in negative interactions, including the use of degrading and inflammatory language, which is leading to disruptions and conflicts within our school community.

To help address this issue, we strongly encourage you to monitor your children’s online activities and engage in conversations about respectful communication. Your support is crucial in fostering a positive environment both online and at school.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our community safe and respectful.

FALL/WINTER RECESS PREPAREDNESS

Now that our weather is colder, a reminder to K-5 parents and students to make sure they are prepared for outdoor recess time. (Snow boots, snow pants, hats, gloves/mittens and warm coats.) Please make sure your K-5 child has warm weather attire each day to go outside so they can participate in recess. If there is a financial need for any of these items please either send a note in with your child or email mkeaney@sharonsprings.org.
