PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear SSCS Families,

It’s hard to believe, but we’ve officially reached the midpoint of the school year! As we begin this second half, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible effort and progress our students and staff have made so far, and to look ahead to the opportunities that lie before us.

This week, teachers are hard at work finalizing second-quarter grades and crafting thoughtful comments that provide insight into each student’s journey. These report cards, which will be mailed out by next Friday, January 31, 2025, are more than just numbers and letters. They tell the story of growth, resilience, and the unique strengths each student brings to our school community. When those envelopes arrive, I encourage families to sit down together to review the report cards. Celebrate the successes, and use the challenges as a springboard for setting new goals.

The start of a new semester is a perfect time for students to refocus their efforts and renew their commitment to their personal and academic goals. Whether it’s improving in a challenging subject, participating more actively in class, or balancing academics with extracurricular activities, this is the moment to embrace growth and push forward. Every step, no matter how small, brings them closer to their potential.

As always, I want to remind our students that they are not alone in this journey. Our teachers are here to guide and support them every step of the way. They are more than educators; they are mentors, cheerleaders, and partners in our students’ success. At SSCS, we pride ourselves on being a family, and families support one another through every high and low.

Parents and guardians, your role is just as vital. Encouragement at home goes a long way in helping students stay motivated and focused. If you have any questions or concerns after reviewing report cards, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or to me directly. Open communication is key to ensuring we’re all working together to support our students’ success.

Let’s approach this second half of the year with determination, enthusiasm, and the belief that great things are ahead for every member of our SSCS community. Together, we can make the rest of this school year a time of growth, achievement, and celebration.

Warmest wishes,

Mr. Yorke

PTO SWEETHEART DANCE PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT LOCAL FIRE VICTIMS

In times of crisis, our community shines with generosity and compassion. Following a devastating house fire that affected one of our SSCS families, we are rallying together to make a difference. The PTO will donate all funds raised from the Sweetheart Dance to support a 2nd-grade student who lost his home. We aim to provide him with a special shopping experience to replace his toys, games and other fun things little boys love! A donation box will also be available during the dance. Please reach out to Arianna Parsons sscspto@sharonsprings.org if you have any questions! Please note that this event is for SSCS K-5 families ONLY. Thank you!
