Student Focus
The 3-8 Math Exams are scheduled for:
- Grades 3, 4, 6, & 7: Tuesday, May 2nd & Wednesday, May 3rd
- Grades 5 & 8 (computer-based): Wednesday, May 3rd & Thursday, May 4th
- Exams are administered at the start of the school day: 8:00am
Principal’s Message
Math tests may seem daunting,
But don’t let that stop you from wanting
To do your best and work with your mind,
And leave those math problems far behind.
Remember, practice makes perfect,
So keep trying, don’t neglect
The opportunity to learn and grow,
And let your math skills overflow.
Don’t be discouraged if you stumble,
Just take a breath and don’t crumble,
Believe in yourself and your abilities,
And overcome those math test anxieties.
With hard work and with dedication,
You’ll reach new heights, hard work always gains admiration,
For your math skills that will surely shine,
And propel you forward, beyond the line.
Put in the effort, strive for success,
And don’t settle for anything less,
For with hard work and determination,
You’ll achieve your goals, no hesitation.
So hold your head up high and true,
And know that we believe in you,
For you are more than a score,
And you’re destined to achieve much more!
Kindergarten Registration
This year’s registration and screenings will be held on Wednesday, May 31st & Thursday, June 1st 2023 in the Sharon Springs Central School Auditorium.
New York State regulations state that a child may enter Kindergarten if the child attains the age of five years on or before December 1st of that school year. An amendment to New York State Compulsory Education Law, signed by the commissioner in June, 1992, clarifies that children who turn six during the school year must attend school at the start of classes in September. Any child who has his/her 6th birthday on July 1st or after must be enrolled in school.

Sharon Springs Food Pantry – Need help stretching your food budget? The Sharon Springs Food Pantry is open to all! Open every Thursday from 9:00am-10:30am and again at 5:00pm-6:30pm or by appointment. Located at the Sharon Springs Methodist Church, 511 Highway Rte 20, Sharon Springs, NY

SSCS will continue to produce this document each week as a service to the SSCS community. Similar to last year, classified ads, such as advertisements for the sale of items, help wanted ads, etc., will no longer be accepted. Advertisements will only be accepted if it relates to a potential educational benefit for our students or it has the potential to benefit the Sharon Springs community.
