SSCS welcomes four new teachers, two teacher aides and a medical aide to our staff for the 2024-25 school year. Let’s meet them.
Rachel Ferreira, Middle School CTE Teacher (Animal Science/Family & Consumer Science)
Rachel Ferreira comes to SSCS from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School where she was an Agricultural Teacher and Teaching Assistant since 2022. She was also an FFA Advisor in the school district. Prior to that she was Director of Equine Management and an instructor at High & Mighty Therapeutic Riding and Driving Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science/Equine Concentration and a minor in Agricultural Education from SUNY-Cobleskill.
Isabella Warner, K-6 General Music and Chorus Teacher
Isabella Warner comes to SSCS from the Gilboa-Conesville CSD where she has worked since 2019 as head of the Music Department, music instructor and advisor for the school marching band. She has also taught at the Guilderland Music Academy, Schoharie Head Start UPK and the Middleburgh CSD. She earned a master’s degree in Music from SUNY-Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the College of Saint Rose, Albany, where she performed in a variety of college bands.
Jamie Wilber, K-12 Art Teacher
Jamie Wilber is an experienced art teacher in the area having taught in the Jefferson CSD, Cobleskill-Richmondville CSD, SSCS (substitute), the JCC in Schenectady and the Capital Region BOCES. She earned a master’s degree in The Art of Teaching from Kaplan University (Iowa), and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Wells College, Aurora, NY. She studied in Paris and painted a detail of George La Tour’s St Joseph Carpenter in the Louvre Museum and created a studio copy of Rembrandt’s Girl at the window. She also has 28 years of aquatics experience as a lifeguard, coach and instructor, and has coached other athletics such as soccer, volleyball and tennis.
Erica Vickers, Kindergarten Teacher
Erica Vickers is a new Kindergarten Teacher at SSCS. She is a former AIS Teacher (Math/Reading) at Canajoharie CSD, a Kindergarten Teacher at the Greater Johnstown School District, and taught at Fonda-Fultonville CSD. She also taught in Pre-K/Pre-School programs at Scotia-Glenville CSD, Kidz Korner, Guilderland and Whispering Pines, Amsterdam. She earned a master’s degree in Literacy from SUNY-Oneonta, a bachelor of science degree from the College of Saint Rose, Albany, and an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
Andrew Harrington, Teacher Aide
Andrew Harrington is a new Teacher Aide at SSCS. He comes to SSCS from Cobleskill-Richmondville CSD with over a decade of experience at all levels of education.
Tracy Willoughby, Teacher Aide
Tracy Willoughby is a new Teacher Aide at SSCS. She has extensive experience working with students from the Schoharie County Pre-K and Head Start programs.
Keri Maldonado, LPN, 1:1 Medical Aide
Keri Maldonado is a License Practical Nurse (LPN) and licensed Teaching Assistant with clinical skills and experience working with children and the geriatric population. She is the former COVID Nurse Coordinator with the Fort Plain CSD and has worked for the Cherry Valley-Springfield CSD and Washington County Head Start. She has also worked in the private sector at Ellis Hospital, Home of the Good Shepherd, Van Rensselaer Manor, Teresian House and others. She earned an associate’s degree in Health Science from Pierpont Community and Technical College.
