A Spartans shout out to Sharon Springs Girl Scouts from Troop 2844 who collected supplies, toys and food for the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley as their 2024 fall service project.
Some of the Daisy and Brownie members and their Scout leaders delivered the supplies to the shelter in Howes Cave on Saturday, Nov. 10 and visited with the cats and dogs up for adoption. They thank everyone who donated to their new furry friends and to this very worthwhile cause.
The shelter tells us that they are sheltering animals left homeless as a result of this fall’s devastating hurricanes in North Carolina and Florida and more are arriving every day. The Girl Scouts collected 20-plus blankets, 10 towels, pet grooming tools, lease hooks, cat food, dog treats, kitty litter and more than 30 dog and cat toys to help them care for these animals.
