Sharon Springs Central School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter recently showcased their excellence at the FBLA State Leadership Conference, held in Rochester. The conference hosted over 800 students, all vying for the top spots in various events. And SSCS FBLA students didn’t just participate; they outperformed their competitors to earn multiple awards.
The impressive performances of these young business leaders landed them spots in the upcoming FBLA National Leadership Conference/Competition to be held in Atlanta, Georgia from June 26th to July 1st. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Madison Westerman secured her place at nationals in Impromptu Speaking and Word Processing. Kirsten Kennedy will represent SSCS in Business Law. Thomas Tissiere and Joey Nedelsky, together as a team, won the Public Service Announcement competition. Peyton Fassett won the Creed Speaking event, and Yasmin Issa performed exceptionally well in three categories: Public Speaking, Business Communications, and Business Concepts. Ava Jump also showed her business acumen by securing her position in the Financial Math and Business Concepts competitions.
The SSCS FBLA chapter has made a name for itself at the state level and is gearing up to show their skills at the national level. The members of SSCS FBLA continue to make their community proud and inspire others to pursue excellence in their respective fields.
The success of these students would not have been possible without the guidance and support of their advisors, chaperones, and parents. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and best wishes for their upcoming competition in Atlanta.
It’s worth mentioning that participating in FBLA events is an excellent way for high school students to prepare for their future careers. It provides them with real-world business experience, helps them develop essential leadership and communication skills, and provides a platform to showcase their talents. SSCS FBLA has demonstrated how with proper guidance, preparation, and hard work, students can achieve their goals and aspirations.
