Grade 1-5 School Awards Ceremony

SSCS held its year-end grades 1-5 elementary school Awards Ceremony June 7 honoring students for achievement in academics, attendance and leadership. Kindergarten students will be honored at their upcoming graduation ceremonies later this month.

ATTENDANCE AWARDS

Perfect Attendance: No minutes missed: Students have no absences, tardiness, or early dismissals for any reason with the exception of a school sponsored field trip.

Commendable Attendance: Students have no more than a combined 1-3 absences, tardies and/or dismissals, regardless of reason.

PRESIDENT’S AWARD FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE

The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding commitment to academic achievement. To be eligible, students must earn a Grade Point Average between 90-100 and receive a recommendation from their teacher. As part of the criteria, recommendations have included activities in which the student demonstrates high motivation, initiative, integrity, intellectual depth, leadership qualities and/or exceptional judgment.

The purpose of this award is to recognize students that show outstanding educational growth, improvement, commitment or intellectual development in their academic subjects.

PRESIDENT’S CITIZENSHIP AWARD

Presented to students who demonstrate good citizenship on a consistent basis.   More specifically, students were nominated for this award that demonstrated, a positive attitude toward classmates, school, and community, that display an understanding and appreciation of civic responsibility, and possess strength of character and the courage to do what is right.
