The SSCS Class of 2025 decided on a casino theme for this year’s Junior Prom held May 4-5. They chose the slogan “All or Nothing” and the colors black, red, and gold. They spent all day Friday decorating the Coach Doig Gym and turning it into a dance floor that resembled a casino-type room.
There was a dessert table that also featured casino-themed snacks thanks to Culinary Arts students from the Schoharie BOCES CTE Program, as well as local bakers Linda Bartlett, Shari Pohls and Keri Jones. Even though they are the smallest class in the school, SSCS juniors have a “go big or go home” mentality thanks to having two coaches as their advisors, Randi Korona and Chris Smith.
Junior Class President Ella Perrotti designed a playlist that even included casino-themed songs from all genres of music including Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” and “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers. After the prom, teacher Jen Field took students to Clark’s Sports Center in Cooperstown for a night of fun at the post prom party sponsored by the SSCS SADD chapter.
