Student members of the SSCS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter showcased their excellence at the FBLA State Leadership Conference, held in Rochester, April 9-12. The conference hosted more than 800 students, all vying for the top spots in various events. And SSCS FBLA students didn’t just participate; they outperformed their competitors to earn multiple awards.
The impressive performances of these young business leaders landed them spots in the upcoming FBLA National Leadership Conference/Competition to be held in Orlando, Florida from June 29 to July 3. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Attending the state conference were SSCS chapter members Kirsten Kennedy, Jayna Manko, George Nelson, Peyton Fassett, Yasmin Issa, Ava Jump, Joey Nedelsky, Griffin Pizza, Tyler Lyon, Clayton Van Patten and Devin Tissiere. They were accompanied by FBLA Advisor Barbara Handy and chaperone Cyle Conley.

In addition to these competitive awards, Ava Jump was elected as the FBLA District 4 Vice President and Yasmin Issa was elected as the FBLA State Secretary. Ava and Yasmin went through a rigorous process and campaign to achieve these leadership positions.
“Sharon Springs FBLA members were outstanding in all aspects of this leadership conference,” Handy said.
The success of these students would not have been possible without the guidance and support of their advisors and parents. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and best wishes for their upcoming competition in Orlando. The ongoing spring plant sale fundraiser will help them earn money for the trip:
